eleneariel: (movie script ending)
Because I am on my way to/at/on my way home from [livejournal.com profile] equuschick 's wedding!

Back on Monday, everyone.

eleneariel: (library)
I have at last found the perfect design for my wedding invitations.

Now, just the small matter of finding a guy who would go along with this idea ...
eleneariel: (walking in the woods)
I am afflicted, mind and spirit, with wanderlust. I want to see mountains again, mountains, Gandalf! I want time to sit in some remote place and enjoy a book and coffee. I want to finish writing my book. I want time to play an entire game of chess, and I want to learn Latin again and Italian for the first time and read all the books in the world and study more ancient history and philosophy and do something amazing with my life.

The wedding was lovely. I have now met [livejournal.com profile] violetvale who is beautiful (don't listen to anything she might say to the contrary!). And I got to see [livejournal.com profile] elveneyes38 again...very wonderful...CA seems to have agreed with her; she's even more glowing and beautiful than usual. =)

I got myself navigated around downtown Fayetteville, rescued the missing tie for the best man, and even got myself on the proper expressway to get home. So what if I did miss the turnpike exit and have to take the scenic way home. But don't tell anyone.

[livejournal.com profile] blackswans sent me the most amazing card/Christmas letter. You are so talented, Danielle!

Sandra surprised me with a tin of chocolate covered espresso beans this morning. Not only is she sweet (although possibily hinting that I've seemed tired lately?), but the timing was perfect. I am so exhausted today, and got up this morning twenty minutes before I had to leave, a Bad Thing. No breakfast, no packed lunch...gah. [livejournal.com profile] savetheolives, please don't worry, I'm not wasting away, I'm sure. The cheesecake last night surely had enough calories to last me a week. o_O

I got my new work computer today! It's a beauty...all black, flat panel monitor, sleek and wonderful. I love it. Unfortunantly the tech guys lots a few of my files in the transfer, but I'm pretty sure they are all replaceable. I hope. *cringes* I should have made my own backup on my flash drive just in case and I didn't take the time because it all happened so suddenly. =\

Lots of things are happening. I can't keep up. Too much to know and do and see and learn and think about. I need time. I can't think, or I think too much. Something!

I think there was more to say, but I can't remember enough to form words.
eleneariel: (face)
I hate those times when I was just on the verge of doing something very important, got distracted, and then can't remember what it was I was going to do. Now is one of those times.

Forty-five minutes and I get to leave work to ferry the grandmother-of-the-bride to [livejournal.com profile] sicilianocalvo and [livejournal.com profile] clothofdreams's wedding. I am so excited. I can't imagine how they must be feeling!

I should have stayed up longer last night and gotten more things done. *facepalm* It was hard enough as it was to get out of bed this morning...

Someone pointed out that I haven't eaten a real meal for the better part of three days. Oops. That won't be fixed today, though. I don't have time to eat today. Oh well. Mayhap another stop for food on the way home from Arkansas late tonight will be in order. I like to drive at night and eat and have the music up loud. =)

-As I Lay Dying, William Faulkner. My advice for reading Faulkner is: don't. That was the single most depressing and horrifying book, besides being written in a style I Cannot. Stand. Even. Remotely.

The Well of Lost Plots and Something Rotton, Jasper Fforde. I revised my opinion of Fford. Those are quite brilliant books after all. I think when I read the first one, I had to read it too fast--or his books have gotten better as he went along.

American Soldier, Gen. Tommy Franks. Oh, the respect.

Don't Eat This Book, Morgan Spurlock. Almost enough to make me give up fast food (except for Arby's!).

Timeline, Michael Crichton. ...... Good? But not good enough to make me want to read it again, apparently.

Standing Next To History, Joseph Petro. This was awesome. Petro was a Secret Service agent in charge of the protection detail of Reagan, than later John Paul II. Facinating. [livejournal.com profile] pansyprincess, I may be wrong but I have a feeling you'd enjoy this book.

My favorite AM talk radio station has changed their background and introduction music, switched to Fox news from ABC, and gotten a new morning person. I miss my old station. Big changes I can usually handle, but minor ones like this throw off my groove.

Oh, I planned my wedding yesterday. Nice to have that taken care of. Let's hope the guy doesn't have any major dissagreements with anything.

......

I will not be stressed. I will not be stressed. All is under control. It's only in your head.
