Because there are ideas which give us such insight that they change our lives. Because after understanding joie de vivre we will never abandon it, never go back to the way we once were. | Who I Am | ||
I am: in my mid-thirties. I was born on my birthday and I will live until I die. I have been described as a cynical romantic and a cautious adventurer. My goal is to live life joyfully, love with abandon, see always the possibilities (I fail sometimes.) I believe in gracious living, and I follow the way of Jesus because I see no other reasonable option. My quest in life is to read every good book, and some of the bad ones. When I grow up I want to be the world's leading expert on Anglo-Saxon and have a huge home library with a library ladder, a floor-standing globe, and old leather furniture. [Note: have now acquired the library. Still waiting on the rest.] I am a modern renaissance woman: I can make homemade ravioli or reroof a house. Champagne truffles and french press coffee rock my world. I have been certified as a fully-fledged adult. That feels really, really weird. My titles are as follows: Mari, Princess of Quite a Lot, Coordinator of All Things, Queen of Alliteration, Keeper of the Books, Practitioner of Joyful Living, Purveyor of Baked Goods, The Great Recommender, and Wielder of the Red Pen of DOOM. | ||
