As promised to [livejournal.com profile] elanortheeldest, I have posted my 2004 Book List in my literary LJ, [livejournal.com profile] _bibliotaph_. Be ye warned, 'tis long. But I divided it by month, so it doesn't look terribly daunting. It would be interesting if some of you lovely people would see how many of the books that I've read this year you have also read (not this year, but at any time), and comment with the number. Also, I'm always interested in any opinions of said books, and if you have any questions about them, do ask. I just might remember enough about it to help.

Pertinent statistics on my reading last year:
Books read: 147
Books bought, stolen, given, or otherwise acquired: 209
Arthurian books read: 13
Pratchett books read: 10
Biographies read: 6

This year I will try to remedy that imbalance. Maybe.

I have decided that when I reach the point in my life where I feel I have experienced many interesting things, I am going to write a memoir of sorts and title it Beware the Naked Drunk Man: Essays and Reflections on Life. Yes, there's a back story to that, but mostly I just think it's a catchy title. Sounds like a best seller to me.

On another random subject, I think that Smith is not as wide-spread a name as it is popularly thought to be. Movies, as we know, are accurate portrayals of real life, therefore my conclusion. Every time someone in a movie signs into a hotel as Mr. or Miss Smith, they are hiding their real name. The same holds true for almost every time someone introduces themselves as Smith. I believe that everyone who enters the Witness Protection Program is given the name Smith, therefore it only makes sense that the government would wish to propagate the notion that every third person in the English speaking world is a Smith.

My apologies to anyone who happens to be named Smith, but I think I'll keep my distance, on the bases that being acquainted with people in the Witness Protection Program is never a good idea.

You know, I was just thinking the same thing the other day.

Lol at your musings on Smiths! ;)

I shall run over and look at your booklist - I'm quite curious! Wow - reading 147 books in a year!! And I thought my resolution to read 50 in this year was daunting! *is utterly wowed*

I have no clue how many books I've read. This year or ever. I just read so much I haven't really kept up with it. But it must be at least 200. And I'm always re-reading things. Have you read the George Morris books? They're Arthurian books and very good.

I don't think I've read those! Thanks, I'm always looking for new Arthurian authors. I'll see if I can find any of his.

The first one is called, 'A Squires Tale" followed by 'The Squire, His Knight, and His Lady'. These books introduced me to Sir Gawain and are the reason that I defend him and dislike books that condem him.

Oh wait, I just realized that I had his name wrong! It was Gerald Morris and you have read one of his books. A Squires Tale.

Sorry about that @_@ Silly me! Well, since you've read that one, what did you think?
