5 Questions

elenearielI have a couple more packages to get ready to ship tomorrow, but I feel more like answering these awesome questions that aftondays asked me several days back.
1) Do you keep up with the news? If so, how do you do it (websites, newspapers, TV, etc.), and which subjects interest you most?
As I learned last week, I feel quite cut off from the world when I can't keep up with the news! I used to listen to news radio almost constantly, but working changed that. Now I browse the papers at work, local and national, (The Wall Street Journal is a favorite), check The Drudge Report throughout the day, and listen to talk radio as I can. And I am lulled to sleep each night by the soothing accents and international news of BBC radio or Deutsche Welle. The only thing I don't do is watch tv news, apparently. Sometimes I catch CNN or Fox News at the gym while on the elliptical, but frankly I'd rather be reading a book. Subjects: politics, politics, weird and random things, and politics. (What other kind of news IS there? Actually I'm interesting in almost anything -- it's a blessing and a curse -- but I can't think of how to describe any other kinds of news. Heh heh.)
2) If you had to choose betwixt perpetual summer and perpetual winter, which would you choose and why?
My summer clothes are more fun, I get to wear sandals, and I hate being cold!
3) Which of the following things would you most like to possess: an amazing singing voice? irresistible skills of persuasion? or stunningly quick wit?
I have an average singing voice which does everything I need it to, and my wit is generally sharp enough to provide occasional amusement without being one of those annoying endlessly-wisecracking folks, but I would definitely love to be persuasive enough to MAKE EVERYBODY DO WHAT I WANT AND THINK IT'S THEIR IDEA. Now that would be awesome. My ideas are always great, I just need to be able to make other people think that!
4) What is one of your favorite things about your life today?
The freedom I have. I still have family and work obligations, but pretty much anything I really want to do, I can. Not that I do ... but knowing that I could is fun. :) Being a first born, and a female, I feel all sorts of obligations and responsibilities to people, and so I'd never use my freedom unwisely. But I could. *evil grin*
5) What kind of animal would be your ideal pet, if any?
Cats, duh! They're playful and cuddly and funny and never take themselves too seriously. Also great for providing warmth on cold nights. Did I mention adorable? And fuzzy?
