Today was a day full of eating.

I had a snack at 2:00am, but don't tell anyone.

Then there was breakfast, of course.

At twelve-thirty we arrive home to find that the electricity has been off since eleven and consequently have a cold lunch of salad, bread, and fruit [note: I adore fresh, sweet, drippy pears.]

Shortly after, the power returns and at three we eat a piping hot double-crusted English savory pie, the orginal plan for lunch. Several hours later I have some dessert.

Now I've got rosemary bread in the rising on the counter, and I suppose I'll have to taste-test it once it's baked. Then I foresee a pot of tea and a black plum in my future. And maybe a pot of coffee, too. :)

Blessed Sunday to all!

Sounds good!

Interestingly, "savory" is one of those words I didn't know the real meaning of until this last year or so. :-) I always thought it just meant something that tastes good. :-D

I think the drippy-ness is what makes me NOT like pears. That is, I like the flavour but not the process of consuming them.

I do eat them, but usually in a smoothie or cut in chunks in a bowl so I don't have to hold it and deal with the drips.

I feel like a bad person for this, since Dan worked so hard to get me to eat pears at all, but There It Is.

Texture plays an important part in food, at least to most people. I've learned to get over a lot of my hangups (thank goodness. rare steak YAY, as long as I don't think about the texture) but anything too slimy still can bother me.

I love oranges but I find them usually too much trouble to eat. messy!

I can only eat oranges if they are the Satsuma/Clementine type because almost all the white membrane stuff is able to be peeled off easily. I love oranges but the membrane maketh me to gag.

YES. For a long time I had to suck out all the juice and then spit out the STUFF that was left.
