Around four mom called me at work. "Guess what?"

"What, mum?"

"I'm in the house alone."

Yeah, this is pretty much all it takes to get us to celebrate. Dad and the boys packed up to go camping for the weekend, so Girly Things rule the house.

I came home and made supper for mom (pasta with lemon cream sauce*) and now I'm playing catch up with my email, sort of, although I'll catch up fully tomorrow. After a while I'll go do the cleaning, yea, even if if taketh me until midnight, so that when I leisurely rise from my bed tomorrow I can know that I have nothing to do but wander lanquidly out to the kitchen and push the button to start the coffee and make banana-orange crepes.

I'm not getting all my comments mailed to me. It's really, really annoying. And I'm pretty sure it's not my fault. Is anyone else having trouble?

The thought of a fried snickers bar makes me physically ill.

* lemon cream sauce is so good and rich and blastedly full of calories. You put a quarter cup of butter and the juice and zest of one lemon and a pinch of salt and CUP OF CREAM in a pan and let it reduce to a third. Five minutes and you're done. And did I mention it's really wonderful?

Who said anything about a fried snickers bar? :-P Now what does sound good is one of those Krispy Creme dougnut bugers that they sell at baseball games.

The state fair is going on and they have fried everything. Pickles, candy bars, etc. I swear I even heard them say "fried Dr. Pepper" although I'm having a heck of a time figuring out how they managed that.

It's not that I don't like fried things, but I think I'd gag if confronted with a fried snickers. Blech.

Fried pickles?!
Okay, that's just going too far.

*wonders how on earth someone could fry Dr. Pepper* :-D
(Must have some of that brominated vegetable oil! ;-))

Probably ninety percent brominated vegitable oil! =P

I've actually made fried dill pickles here at home and they're kind of good, with the salty/sour contrasting with the sweeter breading. I wouldn't like a steady diet of them, but they weren't too disgusting. ; )

A hamburger made with dougnuts?! :-O *tries not to gag*

I am curious about those fried Snickers bars though. :-) I imagine one of those contains enough calories and fat for your entire weekend. :-D

I'm surprised how many of you have had it! I only discovered it about a year ago in an Italian cookbook. =)
