Something
savetheolives doesn't know--yet
Dec. 15th, 2003 05:32 pmLife can move....quickly. Amazingly quickly. In the space of about two hours, the vauge, not-even-worth-talking-about possibility of "someday" getting a job at the library has become a Really Big Possibility. I've already picked up application papers from Express Personel, even though I haven't absolutely possitively decided to even apply...but my mom thinks I should, and I bet my dad will agree once we talk to him.
It's always been my dream job. This library is, admittedly, very ugly. But I'm on a first name basis with almost all the people who work there; I know where all the books are; I know how they operate; goodness, I've probably READ a majority of the books in the ten years I've been frequenting this place. And on top of all that, it would probably be a very good place to prepare for that Ultimate of All Dream Jobs (involving a library, a college, a friend, and Somewhere Beautiful.)
The one little glitch is that the library director is, in the words of the librarian I talked to today, "a strange cookie." Yup, I've noticed. =D But I've worked with several such people before, even lived with a couple. *grin* I can work with a person who follows the beat of a different drummer. Heehee.
Guess I'll wait and see what happens...it might not work out, of course. I'm pretty sure, though, that if I decide to apply, I would get it. 'Cause everyone knows and loves me, y'know. =D I don't have to MAKE a good impression, because I have been for ten years. *very large grin*
