- It's been a week since I've been at work. That feels really weird to think about. The time to recharge has been such a blessing ... but I do miss it.

- I'm holding off on posting pictures until I get home, but I have some good ones. :)

- This week has gone entirely too quickly.

- My mom misses me, and so do my cats. The male members of the family just say "no comment." Typical.

- I have not been entirely lazy. So far I've read four books, edited a portion of [profile] windandtherain 's novella (Wow, Lizzi, I absolutely loved it and please send me more I am dying to know what happens next), and am in the middle of the book that [profile] jennymae loaned me (I'm really enjoying it,, thank you, Jenny!) I've also been attending [personal profile] savetheolives 's Doctrine classes, catching up on sleep, and working out for an hour every day. Woohoo.

- Tonight we go to the symphony!

- ps: the weather has finally turned fallish. That always messes with my brain, but mostly in a good way. It makes me think more about nearly everything. It also makes me feel more ambitious .... uh oh. I'll probably be making detailed and exhausting To Do lists all the way home.

I think everybody should take a vacation. I highly recommend it. :)

Happy Towel Day from two hoopy froods!

Sleepy. Watched a film in French and played games in Swedish. Saw Lost for the second time ever. Watched men jump over the edges of cliffs for fun. Cleaned Hannah's closet.

Today the closet, tomorrow the desk, the next day the world.

I realized tonight that really, a year ago was unforgivably rude and that's what I mind the thought of, not what I did or did not lose.

Today included more hours of sleep then I've gotten at one time in six months (ah, vacation, I love thee) and a mall excursion where I may or may not have possibly found The Pair of jeans.

And David's Bridal to try on gowns.

~

Tonight might be Godfather night. *squiggle*

I'm having a terrible time and suffering much abuse at the hands of [personal profile] savetheolives. Also, she's been sprinkling salt in my hair.

No kidding about the salt, though.

There was a bird trapped in the Cincinnati airport terminal. It kept flying back and forth across the length of the building and trying to escape through the skylights. I sat across from Bill Gates during the three hour layover as I ate french fries, Starbucks, and frozen yogurt while balancing my checkbook and reading The Tipping Point and Guards! Guards!. I was freezing cold the entire time and sat on my feet whenever possible.

I get philosophical in airports, which are the places-between-places, times of waiting.

Aaaand, painted on the runway: YIELD TO AIRCRAFT.

('cause we're bigger than you, doncha know.)

-the resturant that burned yesterday is gone. The front wall is still standing, but looking in the (blown out) windows...it looks like it was bombed. Rubble everwhere, nothing resembling the neat booths and tables it used to contain. I went down and took pictures while it was burning, but apparently that particular memory card failed and I lost them all. =\ Too bad.

-memory cards are much cheaper now than they were six months ago. This is a happy thing.

-I can't be all things to all people. Sad fact, but true. I'll have a happier life if I realize that.

-Annnd I get to go make some major financial decisions this afternoon, which is why I'm not wearing jeans on casual Friday. It just doesn't seem right to be moving money around in scary amounts in jeans.

-then I go home, finish packing, and go to bed at 8:00pm. Anyone have suggestions on how to fall asleep at that early hour?

-The morning shall see me gone. Hurray! But you will likely not see me gone, because when [personal profile] savetheolives and I get together, we always seem to want to spread the joy. =)

[Edit] - Mexico is angry about us protecting our border and (possibly) building a fence: need we have more proof it's a good idea?

w00t!

The vacation time has been arranged and the tickets have been ordered.

6:45 AM April 20th shall find me winging my way East for a week of friendship, cliff-pushing, libraries, and saints.

This time, I'm bringing my own salt.

And [livejournal.com profile] savetheolives, all you have to do is be there at two o'clock to pick me up!

(Anyone ever been to the Cincinnati airport? Good? Bad?)
