You GUYS. I have such stories for you. And they'll have to wait, because I'm about to crash into a heap of brainless matter. But I will tell you that the title of the first adventure will be In Which Marie and Jordan Drive Half-Way Across Kansas By Accident And Consequently Go Longer Without Sleep Than They Ever Have In Their Entire Lives.

Stay tuned!

I love how crazy my family can get at points. Saturday night we ended up playing baseball in the backyard with apples. Our apple tree has way to many for us to use, and they were lying right there on the ground, and so...! It made such a satisfying sound to hit a juicy sphere and have it go SQUELSH and fly into hundreds of pieces all over the yard, spraying apple juice all over the batter and anyone else lucky (?) enough to be standing close by.

And when it was all over, our dog went and delicately began eating the pieces, lying on her back with the apple between her paws like a baby with a bottle.

I'd love to try it with oranges sometime.

In other news, the Four Day Weekend All To Myself is rapidly coming up and I am Excited. Icecream, chocolate, lots of reading, and my first experience with the Church of Christ beckon me, and I can't wait.

Sunday morning I drove an hour and a half with a girl from church to visit my old friend Sarah. We got lost six times, asked directions in three gas stations, a doughnut shop, and a Pentacostal church, and drove all the way to Collinsville before realizing we really wanted to go the opposite direction (no thanks to Sarah, who KNEW the correct way but faked us out into thinking we knew what we were doing.)

We attended a Baptist church where we were serenaded by a drummer and the entire brass section of an orchestra, including a sax player who soloed multiple times. We had forgotten our Bibles, but did not need them as all the Scripture was power-pointed onto the large screen. There was also not a hymnal in the place because 1) they didn't sing hymns and 2) all lyrics were, again, projected on the screen. In front of us a young couple apparently thought they were at the movies, since the were cuddling and hugging and laying their heads on each others shoulders. (Smooeyness follows me everywhere...)

We ate at a hole-in-the-wall Mexican place, got throughly cracked up at our little short Mexican male waiter, who we couldn't understand (every time he came around and said something to us we'd just nod and say, "Fine, everything's fine, good food, thanks!"), and tried to control our giggles long enough to ask for carry out containers. We ate icecream cones in a park, marched through the woods looking for a rope swing that has dissapeared, and found Artistic (and Dead) Trees. Took some pictures by aforesaid Artistic Trees.

Then we ate pizza, said goodbye, and drove home, where I found my car still where I had parked it, even though there was a sign that said "One hour parking; all others will be towed." (Whew.)

Mainly we just laughed a lot. My stomach still hurts. *grin*
