So tell me--what sorts of objects have you seen by the side of the road? Shoes, trash, etc. Comment, comment, comment, and tell me!

I'll fill you in as to the reason I'm curious later. =)

One that comes to my head immediately is tires, tons of them. That's all I have for now, and yeah, I'm waiting to be filled in. ;-)

Tumbleweeds, couches, furniture, shopping carts, shoes (usually just one at a time), socks, other clothing, dead animals, trash, cigarettes, tires (part, whole), broken down vehicles waiting for a tow, fruit stands or people standing and selling fruit, star map stands (in Hollywood and Beverly Hills), cars pulled over by the police, police with radar guns, people milling around broken vehicles after an accident, prisoners in orange vests picking up trash, orange bags of trash waiting for pick up, highway workers watching each other work, construction equiptment, fireworks stands, leaves, weeds, puddles, and call boxes (to call for a tow truck).

Hubcaps! Trash, of course, mostly from fast food restaurants. Dead animals, tires, garbage sacks (usually full of brush and not actual garbage), the usual. Shoes are generally hanging on the telephone wires, though I've seen some on the side of the road. Makes you wonder if someone is missing a shoe, because they're never pairs, always one lone shoe.
