I feel just a little like Alice

Leggings are, I am told, quite passé for this season - but do I care? Not hardly. And combined with a short jersey dress, they make up one of my favorite outfits. They're comfortable and warm, and I can crawl, sit on the floor, stand on a table, or climb on a ladder (sometimes I do all of the above in a day at the library) without worrying about flashing people. I think we'd all agree that's a good thing.
It's also become my standard winter travel wardrobe. For the PLA conference in Minneapolis last year, where I knew I'd be doing a lot of walking downtown in the frigid air, I took two short jersey dresses (one red, one black), two pairs of leggings (one black, one grey), two shrugs for over the dresses (one black, one white) a cheery red wool peacoat/scarf/hat, and a pair of black ballet flats. In various combinations, this made up most of my wardrobe for the week, and I remained comfortable, warm, and chic. AND it all fit in one carry on bag!
(That's also the trip where I got propositioned by a very dignified elderly gentleman who talked constantly about his wife, but that's another story.)
Incidentally, this is my it's-six-in-the-morning-i-haven't-had-coffee-and-you-expect-me-to-SMILE?! face. You'll be seeing it a lot.

Date: 2009-01-06 02:12 pm (UTC)I like this idea! If I didn't wear the same 4 or 5 outfits every week (my wardrobe is very small at the moment) I might copy it for myself! :-D

I'm just over the halfway mark in Breaking Dawn. Finally, Meyers is giving my heart a stinkin' break. Sure, I know the real hairy stuff's still coming, but finally some payoff here. Immortality, happy times, beautiful baby, no Jacob/Bella angst to go ripping at me when I think of how that must punch Edward in the stomach.
Speaking of which, I totally knew Jake was going to imprint on the baby. I didn't know it would be a girl though...it was sort of implied that the imprinting thing neededn't be sexual in nature, so I didn't see a problem with it.
Also, it was obvious to me that, all the while that Bella had been ill, the baby wanted blood. They should have just asked me, she'd have been fine the whole time.

Date: 2009-01-07 10:13 pm (UTC)Isn't having Bella/Jacob angst over with a beautiful thing? And aren't Jacob's chapter titles just about the best thing ever? ... wait, don't answer that.
So how do you like vamp!Bella?

Date: 2009-01-08 04:29 am (UTC)I love vamp Bella, but to tell you the truth, I feel it's more difficult to relate to her now. I have similarities to the character, and so it's less of a connection now.

Oh good, it isn't just me. I thought it was fun to see how Bella reacted to vampire life (as
Edit: Er, sorry, that would be the Breaking Dawn recap. *slaps forehead*
