Chainreading has been down for over a week now, and Stacy and I were growing increasingly distressed. What if the site never came back? What if we had lost our oh-so-precious list of Books To Be Read?!

We were in a great panic, oh yes. My list is the work of years of compiling and collecting! I will never remember them without it, and therefore will not read them, and then think of all the good books that I might have read and didn't!

So it was with great joy that we saw yesterday that the site owner has put up a message: the hard drive died, but all shall be well and he is working on it.

Still, the first thing I'm going to do when it comes back up is print out that list.

I don't have much of a list on there yet but that is a good idea to copy out what you want to read.:)

I'm sorry :(

- But it's back, and your list is intact! Please let me know if you notice anything fishy (you can email me via feedback@ chainreading, or post on my blog @ nullcreations.net)

I have moved it to my own server now instead of piggy backing on a friends, and have implemented better backup procedures as well.. In the process I think i've motivated myself to start working on the site again, so some good may come out of all this in forms of actual updates to the site.. I hope :)

If you login to your chainreading account now, at the top -right of each list there is a "print this list" link beside each "subscribe to rss" link.. it doesn't look all that great, but it will print nicely :)
