Chainreading has been down for over a week now, and Stacy and I were growing increasingly distressed. What if the site never came back? What if we had lost our oh-so-precious list of Books To Be Read?!
We were in a great panic, oh yes. My list is the work of years of compiling and collecting! I will never remember them without it, and therefore will not read them, and then think of all the good books that I might have read and didn't!
So it was with great joy that we saw yesterday that the site owner has put up a message: the hard drive died, but all shall be well and he is working on it.
Still, the first thing I'm going to do when it comes back up is print out that list.

Date: 2007-09-11 06:19 am (UTC)I have moved it to my own server now instead of piggy backing on a friends, and have implemented better backup procedures as well.. In the process I think i've motivated myself to start working on the site again, so some good may come out of all this in forms of actual updates to the site.. I hope :)
