Lots of book-type things

_haydee_ know that I finally found a copy of The Neverending Story! It was you that talked about it so much in HH, right? Or maybe you and amea together, as was often the case about anything. *grin* Anyhow, the library just got it, and I nabbed it first. I LOVE how it's printed in red and green ink. I've always wondered why books were always in black. (Betty: "Because it's cheaper, idiot!") I'm up to somewhere around the middle and I am enjoying it tremendously.
Also finally found Orwell's 1984. Am not enjoying it tremendously, but it's not a book to be enjoyed. I am glad to finally be reading it. I've looked for a very long time, but it's a hard one to look up in the catalog. You never know if it's going to be numbers or all spelled out.
*squiggles* I've bought a great many really lovely books lately, too. The bookstore just doubled it's size by buying the shop next door and knocking down the walls between the two, so he has tons more books out then he had room to before. I finally found A Man Rides Through, and (joy!) Queen of the Summer Stars. That is such a human retelling of the whole Arthur/Gwenever/Lancelot thing. Now I only need Guinever: The Legend in Autumn to complete the series.
Let's see, what else. Oh.violetvale, you're the one that likes the LMM "Emily" books so much, right? I've looked for ages for any of them, and never even so much as saw one until the other day, when I found Emily of New Moon buried in a stack of romance novels. I bought it for a quarter, and I swear I will MAKE time to read it soon. (read: withinthenextyearipromise)
I can't believe I spent $6 on a lovely copy of The Way We Live Now last summer and still haven't read it yet. *head in hands* Can someone loan me some more time, please?
But...*digs out reading list*...guess what? I've already read seven books this month! And usually I only manage 13-15 in a month. So maybe I'll surpass that average.
Also interesting to note: I'm up to book number 402 since June of 2000. If that really means that I only read about a hundred books a year (and it doesn't, not really. I forget to write them down a lot!), it would take me three years plus some to read everything in my collection.
