Still no electricity, and it's day 6. Isn't life exciting! We don't have it nearly as bad as many in the area -- we have wood heat, so at least the house stays (fairly) warm, and we still have running water.

Oh, btw, another storm is coming through this weekend with 6-8 inches of snow and sleet projected. Hahaha.

And totally randomly, girls, I bought new black knee-high boots last night. I didn't realize until a little while ago that they have four inch heels. Sweet! I've always been sorry I gave that other four-inch pair away a couple years ago.

See the purty bushes by the front porch!

My car became a giant icecube. Only the driver's door is actually unstuck
and openable, and that after considerable effort.

Before I went back to work, I spent large portions of the day huggling
Hagen (who has grown considerably, no?)

I like this picture.

We're losing a lot of the pines. =\ This one hasn't snapped....yet.

Evenings are spent thusly.

Nope, I won't explain how we got icicles like this. This was taken just before
massive branches fell down and demolished the whole thing.

It looks like snow, but don't be fooled. Solid ice! Goldy and her part-husky
bloodline love it.

Incredible.

Just a minor look at the mess in our front yard.

I helped chop up trees that had fallen across the road.

And some poor trees just fell over, roots-up.

Yikes!!! To a CA girl...that not only doesn't look fun, but it also looks pretty. (I'm not living in it, so I guess I can say that.) I can't imagine being without power for six days! I hope things start thawing for you, soon! I hope you guys stocked up on candles before...

It IS beautiful, especially the rare occasions when the sun comes out and everythign glitters. =)

Lol, my mom and I both absolutely love candles, so we have a ton. They come in handy at times like this, too!

Haha, I guess one's love for candles can be useful at times! ;-) If you get desperate, let me know, and I'll send you some more. LOL

Oh. My. Word.

I could never imagine so much ice all in one place. I must say, I am glad I live in a place where it rarely snows, because I can't stand the cold for too long. Wow, great pictures!

We had an ice storm just like this about 10 or 12 years ago (maybe more).
Most people got power back in 2-3 weeks others were out a lot longer. They had to put in new telephone poles throughout the county.
I remember standing at the kitchen window watching the transformers blow along the street. They were so beautiful and bright blue.
We waited until we could chisel the car out of the ice (about a week) and drove to my grandparents house.
I was so upset because the week after it happened was Spring Break. We were out of school for 3 weeks.

Typical timing! =P

I feel so bad for all the power crews. They're working such long hours, and in such terrible weather!

How gorgeous, but what a mess! We had an incredible ice storm here in IA prolly 15 years ago? It's was the coolest thing, but everything was such a mess too!

Nice.....well kinda. The pictures are cool, but being in all that probably isn't such a nice thing. Hope it clears up soon for y'all.
