I have a lot of scars, because my skin heals slowly and not all that well. But my most memorable physical scar is actually a number of scars on my thumb~~Not memorable to me per se, seeing as I don't remember at all, but this is the story my mother tells me....One day a Long Long Time Ago, back in the days when eyedroppers were made of metal (which was Stupid, as we all know now), The two year old me got the bright idea to remove the dropper part and stick my left thumb into the metal ring. Two year olds aren't exactly known for their bright ideas, and I was no exception. The ring was exactly Marie Thumb-Sized, meaning that I could stick it in but you'd better believe it wasn't going to come out again without a fight. This posed a Problem, since children with metal rings stuck on their thumbs are not generally Accepted by their Peers. Dear mother tried to pull it off, twist it off, and cut it off, and all it did was shread my skin. Like, completely. I wasn't a help, either, since in these situations I had a tendancy to ....Scream. Yes. And loudly. It did come off eventually, but I have a ring of scars around that thumb, which is rather interesting, when you think about it.
Gah. Why am I saying all this? Who cares?
I think I'll go eat some Lebanon balogna now. I ADORE it when we get visitors from Pennsylvania, because they almost always bring balogna. (Okay, after looking at that for a few minutes I have decided that balogna is officially the weirdest word ever. It's even odder then shampoo, which at least has the explanation of being orginally from an Arabic word.) I like the sour kind best, but the sweet balogna is good too.
Oh, guess what? The people who came to visit brought several friends, and one of them was a lady named Geneva! Is that not cool? Beautiful, beautiful. I love that name. I think I may keep it in mind as a Name For A Future Daughter. Only it reminds me of the Geneva Convention, so maybe I won't. But it's a lovely name none the less. Right up there with Guenever and Galadriel Geniveve (sp?). And no, I don't generally have a thing for names that begin with "G". Really. I also like Eowyn, and that's an "E" name! *triumphant look*

Date: 2004-02-05 04:33 pm (UTC)Scars: I don't have many, but the ones I have are mostly from animals. My biggest and most weird is a semi-circular one on my right thigh, where, when I was about ten years old, a rabbit bit on and would not let go! I don't know what came over him; he was a perfectly nice bunny one minute and a maniac the next.
