- I'm taking tomorrow off! No work. Yay.

- Instead I am going to work on altering my ball gown for the New Year's Eve ball. Yay! Because...

- Tomorrow I'm buying plane tickets to Boise! YAAAAY!

*is awfully, terribly excited*

ME!

Okay, not just me, but I'm a very happy part of it.

A happy part indeed!

YOU are coming to the ball too, right?

Yes, Jenny and I are both planning on being there!

I need to rustle her up an invitation. Hmm...I wonder who I have to talk to to get her numbered among the elite.

I think my argument will be, "She's a much better person than I am, and you let ME come!"

I know who to call! I'll send you an email after breakfast with their names and numbers.

Does there have to be anything besides a ball?

But there is. =) Or there will be.

I guess not, was just curious if you had family or something up that away. I know some people that live in Moscow, ID but that's quite a ways North of Boise.

Never been there but I hear it's beautiful country.

Nope, no family. I have several friends up that way, though.

It is beautiful!

I've had a lot of friends who went to school in Moscow at U of I, as well as New St. Andrews. I've never been there, but I hear it's an interesting town. :-)

Same here. And [livejournal.com profile] sirjake and [livejournal.com profile] ladyharriet honeymooned there!

My friends the B's go up at least once a year for the big ball and conferences and stuff.

I have friends that do that too. Over the last few years they've tried to convince me to come both to their ball and their "infamous" history conferences. :-D I actually have a cousin who's living up there right now. She went to Christ Church for a little while, but ended up at a different church (I don't remember what it was though). There's talk about trying to get a URC church started there, though, which would be cool.

I forget... is sirjake related to HollysReading? She used to live in my area, and was even a member of a church I've visited many times (although I didn't visit there until after they had moved). My parents are actually going to that church right now.

Aw, neat, I didn't realize that's how you knew Holly! No, they're not related as far as I know, but Jake went to school (?) and lived in Moscow for awhile, before he got married.

Lol, If you attend any ball, it shall be the Boise ball. =P

Actually, that's not how I know her. :-D Believe it or not, I met her here on LiveJournal! :-O Kind of like how I met jmcphers, even though he knew all sorts of people I knew in real life. :-)

Lol, If you attend any ball, it shall be the Boise ball. =P

I agree... unless, of course, you had decided to go to the Moscow ball instead. :-D

What if I were to go to a ball in ...hmm... Albuquerque? ; )

I think that if I got you in a suit for a ball, it would be a miracle. Although you could always go kilted.

I knew people going to New St. Andrews and know Doug Wilson from the pastors conference in Monroe, LA. I didn't go the last couple of years but two before that. It's a lot of fun if you're into theological studies/debates. Especially from the PCA or reformed perspective.

A girl that I went to church with a few years ago was wanting to go to New St. Andrews but I don't know if she ever did. She would be about that age now I guess.

I don't know how much "fun" it'd be for me since I disagree so much with Federal Vision and theonomy and other things associated with Wilson, et al, but I'm sure it'd definitely be interesting! =)

Do the people get in pretty heated debates? Doug Wilson is super controversial over here.

The two years I went it was definitely "interesting". There were several very heated debates. I agree with you that I disagree with a lot of Wilson's stuff too. I just think open debate is a good thing generally speaking.

I'm not sure I'm familiar with his Federal Vision but I know I disagree with his views on education.

Yeah, that's true. Open debate can be very helpful for correcting bad doctrine, etc.

Could you give me a nutshell version of his education views? I'm just curious...I know people who really like Wilson but I guess I haven't come across those specific views yet.

In a nutshell Wilson believes that Christian schools are superior to homeschooling. I completely disagree. I'm sure Wistfulmaid could vouch for that. ;)

Ah, okay. I'm all for doing what's best for the child. Sometimes's it's schooling at home and sometimes it isn't.

Yay to functions where you get to get totally dressed up.

I love the song that your icon quotes, especially the Chantel Kreviuzak version from Armageddon.
