Jun. 19th, 2004 09:05 amYesterday I browsed for about ten minutes through very messy shelves of mostly romance-or-modern-fiction paperbacks and emerged with 1066 and All That, which I have wanted for ages (the title intriqued me), and had given up hope of ever finding since it is an old, out-of-style (and probably out of print) comedic look at English history. Much like Richard Armour, for Those Of You Who Are Into That Kind Of Thing. (I am.)
So I bought it for 27 cents. I had the hardest time on the drive home trying to keep from beginning to read it, but I was stayed by my promise to
equuschick that I would never, ever read and drive at the same time. She doesn't want to see me dead. (Neither do I.)
