I just realized that when I hear people with accents speak, I see the words written out in my head in specific styles of handwriting - for instance, Indian accents are written in that bubbly, round handwriting favored by fourteen-year-old girls (with circles for dots). Australian accents are written in spiky handwriting that slants heavily left.

I have no idea what this means.

I think it's pretty normal for people to have their own visual associations with sound, color, smell, etc.

British accents don't have a visual association for me. I think because I hear them so much that they're about as normal as American accents!

LOL.... the other day someone asked me "where are you from?" I told him and then he said "you speak funny".... well, duh, so would you if you came from another country. Anyway, I thought it was everyone here who spoke funny!
