Item one: I've revamped my icons. I've very reluctantly gotten rid of my Eowyn one. *cries* I think it may reappear before too long. But these new ones are all ones I like a lot, and I made them and they Fit Me. Somehow, though, they've all ended up being serious. I can't figure out why!
Item two: a survey recieved via email from
maidintheusa I felt very Odd while filling it out, so (I've been feeling Odd a lot lately)
1. First Name: Marie. Weird, huh?
2. Were you named after anyone? Marie Curie and/or Marie Antonette. I don't know which I prefer. The truth is I was named after no one, my parents just liked the sound of Marie Elizabeth. *buries head in hands* What were they thinking?!
3. Do you wish on stars? Yeah. At times. When I feel particularly inspired and romantic and all the things you need to feel in order to be silly enough to wish on stars. But it's purely a dramatic gesture. I never expect anything to HAPPEN and I save my real wishing for prayers.
4. Which finger is your favorite? Right ring finger because it has my favorite ring on it. *loves silver celtic-type rings, especially when they Mean Things to her*
5. When did you last cry? Um. I don't remember. Probably not too long ago, though. I usually isn't.
6. Do you like your handwriting? Does anyone? If I try hard and go slowly I can do decent calligraphy, but I hardly consider that my natural handwriting.
7. Any bad habits? Many. Including chewing on my hair when either thoughtful or nervous (thankfully I wash my hair often).
8. What is your most embarrassing CD on the shelf? I'm not embarressed of any of them.
9. If you were another person, would you be friends with you? Of course, we'd be kindred spirits; two parts of the same soul. Yay.
10. Are you a daredevil? Mostly no, occasionally yes. I hate putting myself into real danger, though. I only like the appearence of putting myself into danger.
11. Have you ever told a secret you swore not to tell? Maybe once or twice by accident, or if I thought it was a secret that shouldn't be kept. But I'd hardly do that lightly.
12. Do looks matter? Very much so. They shouldn't, but they do.
13. Have you ever misused a word and it sounded absolutely stupid? Very often. Mostly I just mispronounce, though.
14. Do you think there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? Of course; with the little green men to guard it.
15 Do fish have feelings? My ivy plant has feelings, so I feel sure fish must. And I know the poor fish at the C's house was dying to get out of that tiny little fish bowl. Poor thing. Wanna blood worm? Not as good as bikkits, but I hardly think I'd give a bikkit to a fish. Even St. Kevin's fish. Or maybe especially St. Kevin's fish. Uh, what in the world am I talking about? *confusion*
16. Are you trendy? Uh, sometimes? When it's convenient and I want to be? But mostly no? Yes. Mostly no. I'm much more "classic" then "trendy". Mostly I am my own person who absolutely refuses to be told by "fashion" how to dress and talk and act. So THERE. I do occasionally wear flair leg jeans, but hey, I liked them back before they became repopular. Maybe the fact that I like huge Eowyn-type sleeves means that those will eventually come back too? We need a revival in Rennasance type clothing! Women's clothing, that is. Not mens. Heaven help us, not the rediculous mens.
17. How do you release anger? Uh. Write scathing LJ posts and then delete them. Write positively blistering personal journal entries and cringe ever after when I see them. Or just get mad and yell a little and then get over it.
18. Where is your "second home"? In the mist on top of a mountain. Or in Italy. Or inside a book....or mostly, inside my head.
19. What was your favorite toy as a child? all my doll-babies. And I still have most of them, though they are tucked away in odd places because they don't match my room's decor. I loved my baby dolls. I took them everywhere. I dressed them and fed them and changed their diapers and everything.
20. What class in school do you think is totally useless? I'm not in school. Except the school of Life, heh heh. But algebra came very, very close.
21. Have you ever been on radio or television? Not that I'm aware of, thank goodness.
22. Do you have a journal? Both online and personal.
23. Do you use sarcasm a lot? Quite.
AHH, THERE IS NO NUMBER 24. WHY???
25. What do you look for in a guy/girl? Perfection. This is possibly the reason I have not yet met anyone I'm willing to spend my life with. (This is also not meant to scare people away. Honestly. He doesn't have to be absolutely perfect...just mostly.)
26. What are your nicknames? Mari, mostly. Marieowyn on occasion. Marisie on less of an occasion, and Mer or Merrie by one person. One person who can't write me for three months because of some stupid ATI rules. Gah.
27. Would you bungee? No. Tis supremely stupid, unless you just happen to love it. I will, however, push you off the cliff (or bridge. A bridge is just as good as a cliff, right?)
28. Do you untie your shoes when you take them off? Not if I don't have to. I wear shoes with laces only about once a month *anyway*. I. Hate. Tennis. Shoes. Ugh. Nasty ugly things.
29. What are you worried about right now? Two days ago I would have had a list seven miles long. Now I don't feel like talking about it. Lucky for you.
30. Do you ever wear overalls? I used to love overalls, I don't know why. They flatter very few women-type bodies. Of course way back when I loved them I didn't have that type of body. Lol.
31. Do you think that you are strong? Sometimes. Physically I'm stronger then I look. I also tend to strain muscles looking stronger then I am, but hey. Emotionally I am much less strong then I look. People seem to think I'm always in control and confident, and that's my own fault for rarely showing anyone what I wreck I can be.
32. What's your favorite ice cream flavor? Anything with chocolate or coffee or mint. Or anything that's sweet and cold and made from ..y'know, milk and stuff.
33. What's your favorite color/s? Black. Yes, that apparently means I'm an Evil Goth type person. I'm not, I promise. Really. I just...like black. It's a confident color. It makes me feel good. I look good in it, or at least I think I do. I also like red. And the kind of blue that makes my eyes stand out.
34. What is your least fav. thing in the world? Abreviations. Honestly. I can't stand how my mom writes things like "chix and pot" on the weeks menu. I guess it came from her resturant days, where everyone KNOWS chix means chicken and pot means potatoes. I also especially hate fav. for favorite. Heh heh.
35. How many wisdom teeth do you have? I hope I have none. I think that's not the case, however. Nasty.
36. Are you in love w/ anyone? Oh sure. He's terribly, terribly handsome and clever and RICH. But he's rich because he's a gangster, so I guess I can't let myself get serious about him. But he's awfully moral for a gangster. Very trustworthy. You just have to remember that it's not personal, it's business, and I'm not quoting Joe Fox.
37. How many people have a crush on you right now? I wish I knew, lol! Then again, maybe not. Because I have a hunch one of them might be someone that it would be very uncomfortable if I knew for sure. Nevermind.
38. Who do you miss most right now? Hannah. And my gangster friend. And a certain saint, and his parrot. And my oldest friend Seh who is locked away in an ATI program and not allowed to talk to me. Gah. I'm sorry, because I know there are several ATIers on my friends list, but I have a hard time thinking nice thoughts of the ATI programs. Uh. ATIers themselves are very wonderful, and I know this because Emily and Seh and Amy and Sarah and Quinton the Brain and His Many Intelligent, Well-Dressed Friends are all ATI people. So is Bethwen, if I'm not mistaken. All of whom are lovely, nice, wonderful people. =D
39. Why did the orginal survey end with question 39, which didn't apply to you anyhow? Who knows? That's why I'm fixing it. Surveys really ought to end on even numbers
40. What should the last question be? Something really orginal. But I can't think of anything, because I feel like the guy at Starbucks who I heard say, "I haven't had an orginal thought in my life...all my life I've just been plagerizing."
Item three: now I am off to the computer store where I shall write out a check for an obcene amount of money for a new battery for my laptop which is only a year and half old and SHOULDN'T NEED TO BE REPLACED ANYWAY. But that's ok because I want my precious to work properly. And the money angle is looking up anyway; today I filled out an application for a new resturant and I have a hunch I may be able to get a job there, although what kind is another hunch altogether. Who knows, it could be anything from the business end to the dishwashing end. Lol. But better news is that I'm actually getting to do OFFICE WORK at N. 2000 Tuesday instead of the dirty stuff. Yay for me. They like me there. ; )
Item four: As soon as I'm done at the computer store I'm heading off (with the rest of my family) to the Expo, where there is, among many other things, a car show. YAY. I love spiffy cars. =) Particularly the really souped up convertibles. Dad seriously almost bought that black Mustang that was for sale last year. I'm still holding out for a Sebring, though...
